Design21 is one of the fastest-growing interior design and architecture firms in the country. Spearheaded by the trio who got acquainted through their college days Ar. Nikita Bajaj Pathak, Ar. Gaurav Pathak and Ar. Amit Gulati, this firm aspires to combine the simple ingenuity of innovation and creativity in all its projects. Established in 2013, Design21 has already had firm roots in India, with branches in Holland and America.

Design21 places an equal amount of importance on form and function. But what sets them apart from other firms is that the principal architects have a special fascination with details. So, while all the projects undertaken by the firm perfectly balance functionality with aesthetics, there are tiny details incorporated by the firm making it very special for every client. Another avenue that Design21 specializes in is designs inspired by typographies and natural elements that hone in on the ideas of simple and nuanced accessibility. Design21 executes all its projects with a certain panache that is incomparable to work done by any other firm.

With the expertise of each principal architect in a different sphere of architecture design style, the firm caters to a varied typology of projects, including residential, institutional, leisure, and commercial. Apart from that, the firm also offers project management and execution solutions making this a one-stop solution for all Architectural services.

Design21 has a lot of accolades to their name, some of them being -“Eldrok Award 2021: Excellence in redesigning existing Educational spaces,” “Attended Dialogues 2019: Umaid Bhawan Palace,” Elle Décor launched and covered Obeetee Flagship retail store in 2019, a luxury rug company based off Delhi. The principal architects are the Guest Lecturers at Deshbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology. They were part of the Murthal on Energy Conservation Building Code Seminar in 2018. They also Mentor at JSID since 2020 for Retail Design. Ar. Nikita Pathank is the Moderator and Participant at RK Marbles Women of Stone Event – 2021, and attended Inauguration ceremony at Deen Dayal Hastkala Sankul, Banaras in 2019. This was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi, Smita Irani, and Yogi Aditya Nath Ji. This firm also was chosen to design the Carpet Museum in the complex. One of the founders Ar. Nikita Bajaj Pathak has been featured on the ACE magazine in October of 2021. Ar. Nikita Bajaj Pathak has been frequently invited as a guest lecturer at Kunskapsskolan School, Gurgaon and Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon on Architecture and Green buildings. Ar. Amit Gulati was recently invited as a speaker at IDAC 2021 Jaipur.

GAURAV PATHAK

CO-FOUNDER, B.ARCH, MIA (US)

Gaurav pathak is the Co- Founder partner and has worked with Indian, Dutch and American award winning design firms on large/small scaled residential, commercial projects. In his initial five years as an architect he polished his design sensibilities by working with renowned Architects in India along with working on International projects in Holland. His six years of international experience in USA and a Masters Degree in Interior Architecture from SCAD Georgia, USA, has gained a global perspective of space and function. Besides designing, client management, and site supervision, Gaurav had been involved with marketing at RMJM, New York where he helped in establishing relationships with clients in Asia including India and Bangladesh, and continue to build strong relationships and work associations with USA, India and East Asia. His understanding of design, spacial quality, building materials and an eye for detail helps create unique design solutions on site.

NIKITA BAJAJ PATHAK

Celebrated for her epistolary and flowing design style, Ar. Nikita Bajaj Pathak is renowned for her distinct and unique architectural style. Spearheaded and co-founded by Ar. Nikita Bajaj Pathak, Design21, serves as a model inspiration for fellow architects and firms. Their quality of work reflects years of hard work honing the art of architecture.
She smartly combines both arts and science in order to come up with new and fascinating projects each time she gets back to the drawing board. Even in college, she tended to give equal importance to form and function, taking inspiration from renowned architects like Zaha Hadid and Daniel Libeskind. One of her major influences would be Ms. Meena Mani from her previous employment at Mani Chowfla Architects.
Ms. Pathak had also gotten the chance to assist designing large-scale institutional projects like Delhi Metros and IIPH. Such projects helped Ms. Pathak get some real-life perspective into how the industry worked while allowing her to put her senses of space making and perspective to good use in a very hands-on manner. All these projects culminated in her getting the confidence to start her own firm, and the rest is history. For Ms. Pathak, while balancing form and function has always been important, she also places a lot of emphasis on detail. Through details, she is able to connect to her work on a deeper level, opening up a lot of new avenues for her. Moreover, she also loves working on designs inspired by nature and typographic elements. Making sure that all her designs are user-centric and accessible to all, she designs her projects with a certain panache that cannot be beat by anyone else.

AMIT GULATI

CO-FOUNDER, B.ARCH, LEED AP

Amit Gulati is the Co- Founder partner and has extensive project handling experience in architecture in Europe and India, taking overall responsibility for design and drawings and Client Interactions. His professional association with International firms and time spent in Holland, Delhi and Ahmadabad gives him vast range of architectural knowledge that skillfully reflect in the project running. Through years of experience in mostly large scale projects varying from exhibitions, offices to amusement parks, Amit brings with him detailed understanding of management of the project, client and consultant coordination, and vendor evaluation. His design sensibilities, technical strength in CAD Software applications allows him to provide efficient design solutions and cohesive construction drawings for every space. Amit is also an accredited LEED AP and contributes in improving each project with sustainable green ideas.
